Barry (2016)
Barry premiers Friday December 16
Barry depicts a pivotal year for the 44th president. In the fall of 1981, a young Barack Obama, known to his friends as Barry, begins his junior year at Columbia University. This fact based film explores race, culture, and identity.
In the trailer, Barry tries to figure his "scene" and where he fits in to the world. He's a black man at a predominatly white campus, which means police officers stop him and not his friends.
With his heritage, he feels like he fits in nowhere.
Witness the moments that shaped the future president.
Devon Terrell stars as Barack Obama. The supporting cast includes Ashley Judd, Jenna Elfman, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch), Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton), Ellar Coltrane (Boyhood), and Avi Nash (Silicon Valley).
