Barry depicts a pivotal year for the 44th president. In the fall of 1981, a young Barack Obama, known to his friends as Barry, begins his junior year at Columbia University. This fact based film explores race, culture, and identity.
In the clip, Barry is asked, "How are you?" New York is a rich city, but also a distraction. He's at a predominantly white college, and feels like he is pressured to represent the black population.
