A Very Murray Christmas - I expected more. |
Written by: Mitch Glazer, Bill Murray, Sofia Coppola
Directed by: Sofia Coppola
Starring: Bill Murray, Paul Shaffer, George Clooney, Miley Cyrus, Rashida Jones
Rated: TV-MA
Plot:
Bill Murray hosts a Christmas special in New York during a big blizzard.
Verdict:
Overall it's a bit of a disappointment. It had a few funny scenes, but didn't pull it all together. A stronger ending could have helped. It felt very casual and spontaneous despite it having Coppola as a director. It's short which helps.
It depends.
Review:
It feels like a half-hearted attempt at a Christmas special. It is not a family friendly special. The beginning didn't give me much hope, but Michael Cera wanting to be Murray's agent was a good scene.
"Have you seen Monuments Men?"
"I was in it."
Bill Murray faces many impediments to his show before passing out and having a dream sequence with Miley Cyrus and George Clooney. Miley Cyrus does a nice job on Silent Night The Murray Clooney duet alone makes worth it. "Santa Claus wants some lovin."
