Justified Season 6 TV Review

Justified Season 6 (2010-2015)

Created by:  Graham Yost
Starring:  Timothy Olyphant, Nick Searcy, Joelle Carter, Walton Goggins, Jacob Pitts, Erica Tazel,
Garret Dillahut, Sam Elliot, Mary Steenburgen

Plot:
Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) returns in the final season of Justified. Givens is a wise-cracking, cowboy hat wearing, trigger happy U.S.marshal working in Kentucky. He's scheduled to move to Florida, but wants to bring his nemesis Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) to justice before he does. His plight becomes complicated when Avery Markum (Sam Elliot) and his crew come into town and start buying property.

Verdict:
The final season of Justified feels like more of the same, which isn't a bad thing. Raylan, Boyd, and the new bad guys participate in a story that doesn't feel much different from previous seasons. The charm of the show isn't the story, but the characters. I'd be happy to have another season like this one with Raylan and Boyd.

While the later seasons didn't seem as focused as the early ones, the show always remained enjoyable. Olyphant did a great job as Givens, and this season is a good close, ranking near the top of Justified seasons, though it doesn't rank among the all time greats of television. If you've followed Justified, there is no reason not to watch this season. If you've never seen the show, at least watch season one. Olyphant and Goggins do a great job in their roles.

Harlan is always a happening place and this season has Avery Markum (Sam Elliot) and his henchman, including Ty Walker (Garret Dillahut), buying up property to start large scale pot farming.
Boyd has to contend with Eva (Joelle Carter) being an informant while deciding to steal Markum's plan and money.

Raylan was supposed to head to Florida to play daddy with his daughter, but wants to put Boyd away once and for all. His ties to Eva put him in a precarious position when she runs away.

This season wraps up with the good guys winning and everyone ending up where they should be.
