The Netflix series The Crown won, edging out Game of Thrones, the Netflix series Stranger Things, This is Us, and Westworld.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama
Claire Foy in the Netflix drama The Crown won the category over Caitriona Balfe (Outlander), Keri Russell (The Americans), Winona Ryder (Stranger Things), and Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld).
Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television
John Lightow's performance in the Netflix series The Crown lost to Hugh Laurie in The Night Manager. Other nominees include Sterling K. Brown (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story), Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), John Travolta (he People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story).
In 2016, Netflix had six series nominated for eight awards, winning none. The series were Narcos, House of Cards, Bloodline, Grace and Frankie, Orange is the New Black, and Master of None.
Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language
The Netflix exclusive Divines was nominated.
Netflix did release a video congratulating all nominees and promoting A Series of Unfortunate Events that premieres January 13.
In the video Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) accepts multiple awards.
