    PERFORMANCES

    • The acting by John Abraham is very good . The action scenes are owned by him (obviously) but his dialogues are superbly written. It is the court-room drama sequence where he scores high and lifts the movie to a different level.

    • Mrunal Thakur is on a roll with 2 back to back exciting movies. She is good in her role but her smile is what makes the audience go head over heels for her.
    • Ravi Kishan is effective in the small role he is given.

    • Nora Fatehi, though looks smoking hot in her O saki saki, acts well in her cameo too.
    • Rajesh Sharma is very good is his role of defense lawyer and makes his presence felt amply in the court-room.
    • Manish Chaudhari as Commissioner is super-lative in his role.
    • Sahidur Rehman as Dilshad looks good as the villian.

    Story and Direction

BATLA HOUSE REVIEW , Batla House , John Abraham ,Bollywood Buff

    • The story by Ritesh Shah is inspired from real incidents is a fast paced movie. Though the movie starts on a slow note in the first 40 minutes, but picks the pace and keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats. The story progresses when Huma appears in the story ( Nora Fatehi) as she helps the officers and then the court-room drama is exciting.

    • The direction by Nikhil Advani is excellent and top-notch. The subject has been handled carefully by him as it could have become a documentry without the mass elements and it is this element which multiplies the reach of the movie in single-screens despite being a content driven movie.

    OTHER TECHNICAL ASPECTS

    • The screenplay is fast paced and is superbly written. The different happenings of the event are shown wonderfully and is great to watch.
    • The editing could have been a bit bitter as the movie could have been trimmed by 10 minutes in the 1st half.
    • The music of the movie is good as Rula Diya and O Saki Saki are good to the years and catchy.

    My Opinion

BATLA HOUSE REVIEW , Batla House , John Abraham ,Bollywood Buff

    • Overall, Batla House is a very interesting film and one of the better films of the genre. The movie is very informative and shows how police operates in such cases. The acting and the direction both are super-good and entertains the audience of both, single-screens and multiplex will love the some or the other portions of the movie. The movie should have a good run at the theaters because of no release in the coming week and has many holidays to take a benefit from.
