3D Spy Thriller Next For James Cameron?

** UPDATE: August 3 - AICN has gotten a hold of Cameron and he has officially called Tom Arnold a liar. Or a joker :-) Anyway there goes any credibility Tom has ever had with bloggers or now traditional media. No TRUE LIES 2 is in the works. Thanks to my many readers who just let me know the developments.

Jim here. HELLO. According to a recent interview of Tom Arnold by The New York Times, James Cameron will be making what seems to be something similar to TRUE LIES 2 - and making it a mere 14 months from now! Apparently Mr. Arnold says that date is carved out as it is the day after Schwarzenegger steps down as Governor of California. Here is his exact quote (last paragraph of the interview):

Still, the future project Mr. Arnold said he’s most excited about is a movie with a still-to-be-determined plot and script. “All I know is Jim Cameron’s making it and Arnold” — Mr. Schwarzenegger — “and I are going to be in it, and it starts shooting in 14 months, the day after Arnold stops being governor of California,” he said. “It’s not going to be called ‘True Lies II,’ but it might as well be. I can live with that.”

Obviously it will be in 3D if this turns out to be factual. A 3D spy caper with the Arnolds once again? I can live with that.

So what is Cameron's schedule looking like for the next year? Do you believe Tom Arnold? Where does THE DIVE, BATTLE ANGEL and AVATAR 2 fit into the scheme of things? Hmmm.
