3D Feeding Frenzy Continues! SHARK NIGHT 3D To Shoot This Summer

Jim here. According to Deadline, Director David R. Ellis (SNAKES ON A PLANE, THE FINAL DESTINATION) will be shooting SHARK NIGHT 3D in Louisiana this summer AND with mechanical sharks (By Walt Conti who did the creatures for DEEP BLUE SEA, FREE WILLY and ANACONDA). I would imagine there will be some CGI, and it will be interesting to see how it works for him.

Ellis, being a 3D aficionado, will be shooting his thriller in native 3D. To me, that would be a huge plus.

The budget is said to be set at $28 million and they are clearly aiming at the much earlier success of Spielberg's JAWS, but with 3D premiums. We'll see.

I think with the budget they have, Ellis is a perfect choice. Definitely looking forward to this one.
