Plot

The day of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) returns home to find that his wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) is missing. Her disappearance receives heavy press coverage, as Amy was the inspiration for her parents' popular Amazing Amy children's books. Suspicions arise that Nick murdered her, and his awkward behavior is interpreted by the media as a characteristic of a sociopath.

Opinion

Gone Girl is the story of a wedding dominated by fear, suspicion, betrayal, remorse and revenge. This film is surreal, though looks so real. As the story goes on, it gets creepier and creepier. I'm a bit disappointed by the end.
David Fincher is the perfect director for Gone Girl, turning it into a gloomy film, as he previously did with Seven.
Sweet and lovely Amy turns into a psychopath really fast, and Rosamund Pike plays that role perfectly. Ben Affleck totally nailed the the lost-looking guy.

Quotes

Nick Dunne: When I think of my wife, I always think of the back of her head. I picture cracking her lovely skull, unspooling her brain, trying to get answers. The primal questions for a marriage: What are you thinking? How are you feeling? What have we done to each other? What will we do?
