The Haunting of Hill House release is unknown, 2018 is likely
Netflix announced Carla Gugino will join Michiel Huisman in the series. Gugino has starred in San Andreas (2015), Watchmen (2009), Sin City (2005). Huisman has been in Game of Thrones as Daario Naharis and The Invitation.
Based on the 1959 Shirley Jackson novel of the same name, this is a modern re-imagining. Mike Flanagan (Hush, Oculus) will produce.
The novel was previously adapted to film in 1963 and 1999, both titled The Haunting.
In the book, the heir to the house hosts a supernatural investigator who has invited a shy woman and a gypsy to the old mansion, both having previous paranormal experiences. The four of them experience unexplained phenomena.
The books is considered a horror classic, relying on terror rather than horror.
