Season 1 - 10 episodes (2018)
Netflix announced they will bring the graphic novel The Umbrella Academy to screens in 2018 as a live action series.
The Eisner award winning graphic novel created and written by Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) and illustrated by Gabriel Bá was released in 2007 and depicted a dysfunctional family of super heroes working together to solve their father's mysterious death. Composed of The Monocle, Spaceboy, The Kraken, The Rumor, The Sitting, Number Five, The Horror, and The White Violin, their divergent abilities created a comic with a twisted take on the super hero genre that was dark yet humorous while grounded in reality.
Two comic series were published, Apocalypse Suite and Dallas, with two additional series in development. The comic takes place in an alternate history where JFK wasn't assassinated and is set in 1977. Forty three super human infants were born to women with no signs of pregnancy. The Monocle adopts the seven surviving children. After disbanding, The Monocle's death brings them back together.
