Thierry Fremaux says "the Selection is a dynamic thing that is constantly evolving" and today May 10, two days before opening night, a new film entered the competition, Ken Loach's Route Irish. As of now there are nineteen (19) in the main competition.
Also Fremaux mentions that has happened before in recent years, but the most amazing story is that the three films that entered 'late' won the Palme d'Or. Nevertheless he asks not to draw any conclusions from the past... hmm.
Check the complete press release at the official site.

To check the FINAL press release please go here and to check film info, photo, videos, etc. at the official site go here. The films have the same information as published in the official site; if there are mistakes eventually I'll fix them with reliable sources, like film production companies, publicists, etc.
Not all the films in the Main Selection have trailers, but all have some information. Check info & trailers @ Movie On Companion.
I'm getting really excited with the movies in the main selection as all seem quite interesting. There are some films (and some documentaries shown in the Special Screenings section) that definitively are must be seen, even when I know have to wait until the end of this year or early 2011 to be able to watch them. Still haven't seen some from last year, but it doesn't really matter as the quality of the films shown in this 'mother' of all festivals is always Premium great cinema and I have patience.
The party is just starting...
To watch a collage of film clips check arte Cannes press conference report video here.
Cheers!!!
