Netflix first hinted at the special with a tweet asking Ellen if she would be interested before Ellen revealed she would be filming stand up in the future.
It's been fifteen years since her last special aired on HBO, now she's back. Since then she's voiced Dory for the Finding Nemo franchise and hosted The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
