Inspired by Jim Henson's 1982 film The Dark Crystal, where elf-like 'Gelfing' Jen was on a quest to restore balance to his alien world by returning a lost shard to a powerful broken gem. While the movie used puppets, the subject matter was much darker than Henson's typical fare.
This prequel returns to the world of Thra, where three Gelfling discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis' power. They strive to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world.
