Wonder Woman's Origins: Afrodite Easter Egg In Teaser Trailer For BATMAN V. SUPERMAN?

Certainly looks like it. Check the trailer for BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE and take a look at the image - you'll see "Afrodite" scrawled in graffiti on a pillar. I saw it immediately but I wanted to scan the rest of the graffiti first before posting on it. DC seems to love using this medium to plant eggs - I found something similar back in July of last year and I still think Gentleman Ghost will be in this thing or soon (yes I know some may think the initials LF are for Lucius Fox - the gadget guy for Batman; but I don't agree. Why have his initials on a roof vent? Doesn't make sense. Looking For Ghost does makes sense).

Back to the teaser trailer. It's not bad, but they are biting off a LOT for this movie. They are ushering in a new era of Batman, while continuing the story of Superman and probably doing some Aquaman and Wonder Woman origins (Afrodite is a sub-character in her universe - she gives her the gift of beauty. This however opens the door to have other beings bearing gifts as well: Demeter (strength), Athena (wisdom), Hermes (scarves... errr speed and flight), Artemis (eyes of the hunter) and Hestia (truth). It's a lot to effectively convey in one movie for DC. Marvel is used to this kind of thing and have proven themselves. I'm worried that DC can't pull it off effectively.

The movie definitely seems very dark which will set it apart from the Marvel formula, clearly. Personally I believe DC should have went with native 3D for their productions to further classify themselves as innovators and seeking the best for their audience; not followers.

Still all things being said, this is a VERY interesting movie and could be the start of something amazing. Can't wait to see Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Perfectly cast.

Official Teaser Trailer For Dwayne Johnson's SAN ANDREAS!

I've been waiting for this! I do get a flashback to Emmerich's 2012 with a few scenes in this. I was hoping for a more accurate depiction of what a large scale fault event would look like, but judging from having a huge crevice open up just in front of the movie's protagonist and ripping a gas station EXACTLY in half, it seems this may be more of a popcorn movie. Still, that's fine by me as long as expectations are communicated well.

Dwayne Johnson can carry just about any movie so I'm not worried about being entertained, but I still have high hopes for some realistic action - I don't want to have to work too hard at suspension of disbelief.

SAN ANDREAS is a 3D conversion headlined by Graham Clark of Stereo D - these are the guys that do the lion-share of the Marvel universe conversions, so they are getting pretty darn good at it.

Here's the movie's storyline and description:
After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter.

But their treacherous journey north is only the beginning. And when they think the worst may be over…it’s just getting started.

The action thriller “San Andreas,” from New Line Cinema and Village Roadshow Pictures, reunites Dwayne Johnson with director Brad Peyton and producer Beau Flynn, following their collaboration on the global hit “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.”

Shot on location in The Gold Coast and Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and in Los Angeles and San Francisco, “San Andreas” is slated to open in theatres in both 3D and 2D format on Friday, May 29, 2015.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Teaser Trailer Here!

Tim here with the first exclusive teaser trailer for star wars: The Force Awakens finally upon us! Let me say that it's pretty awesome! Below is the YouTube video:

You can also head over to Apple Trailers to watch it, and if you have a an AppleTV it's able to be played on your HDTV through that by going to the Trailers app. First thoughts are that the opening shot is very JJ Abrams, and gets the trailer moving with some quick glimpses of his vision of the Galaxy Far, Far Away… It's John Beyega in Stormtrooper uniform without his helmit seemingly stranded on Tatooine. We get a brief look at a new droid, followed by an intense three (possibly four) shot sequence with Stormtroopers in a drop ship. Next we get Daisy Ridley on top of a speeder, and I must comment that she looks like a descendent of Padme Amidala based on her facial structure, and as a result the daughter of Leia and Han Solo. That seems to fit with the running theories. We then get an interior shot of an X-Wing pilot followed immediately by an exterior shot of that X-Wing being joined by two others. And we finally get the forshadowing shot: a tracking shot of a Sith, in a snowy and wooded environment, walking amongst the trees until something/someone causes him to pull out his red lightsaber. Note the cool design where the hilt of it shoots out short perpendicular blades. And the trailer concludes with the money shot: the Millennium Falcon soaring over the sky while the camera tracks it back down to the surface of Tatooine and two TIE Fighers shooting at it… and missing.

 star wars: The Force Awakens is set to hit theaters Dec. 18, 2015. JJ Abrams is directing, and it stars John Boyega, Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley with Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher also reprising their roles. It's shot in 35mm Film, with some sequences shot in 70mm IMAX film, and will be a 3D conversion.

Cool Trailer Teaser For THE WOLVERINE And Two New Posters!

James Mangold's THE WOLVERINE just released a cool new teaser via Twitter for his upcoming trailer which will be dropping on Wednesday.

It looks action packed as you would expect from a Marvel movie and it does whet the appetite for what's coming.

As far as the posters go, I think it'll be intriguing to see Wolverine in Japan - I haven't read the comics for the character so I will be walking in fresh. The last poster seems to me to be a flashback to the old martial art movie posters - what do you think?

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Teaser #3

Well here's something you CAN watch and not get spoiled very much as opposed to yesterday's fiasco. Here we've got the third teaser for J.J. Abrams' STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS which does introduce some new elements to us. In particular is a new scene featuring Kirk and Spock in spaceflight that looks like a very cool moment in the film. Oh and an interesting conversation between Pike and Kirk as well...

Here's the storyline for the movie:

In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness. When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. Hmmm. Looks like it could be fun. Take a look at some teaser material (i.e. don't anticipate too much) from Pixar for it's upcoming 3D animation MONSTERS UNIVERSITY which is actually a prequel to the 2001 movie entitled MONSTERS INC.

Happy Father's Day Weekend From Pixar's BRAVE!

As a father, I love how Pixar is marketing BRAVE. If you're a dad then you know what it's like to worry about your kids day in and day out, to watch them grow with pride and of course to make them laugh. Apply these traits to Pixar characters and you have the underpinnings of a wonderful family focused movie. 

I must say BRAVE has grown on me. I didn't know what to expect in the beginning but the marketing is beginning to resonate across the board since the beginning of the year. I'm still not sure about the story from everything I've seen, but I can just about guarantee that the characters will be amazing, the visuals awe inspiring and the soundtrack will be beautiful. Knowing Pixar, the story will be top notch. This isn't another corporately mandated CARS 2.

So looking forward to seeing this! Opens June 22.

New PIRANHA 3D Teaser Poster!

I am feeling exploited with this poster - and I like it! :-)

Dimension has released this teaser poster for their upcoming thriller / horror PIRANHA 3D (via Twitter). They have been very active promoting this Alexandre Aja project lately and I get the same type of in-your-face vibe from this marketing as I did from Lionsgate's MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D. You can easily get away with "comin' at ya" 3D in horror - so why not now right Alexandre?

Storyline: Every year the small community of sleepy Lake Victoria expands from 5,000 people to 50,000 for crazy Spring Break. This year, there's something else to be concerned about aside from a bunch of horny drunken teens. After a small underwater earthquake releases schools of prehistoric man-eating fish, a group of strangers must work together to stop everyone from becoming human fish food.

PIRANHA 3D opens in a 3D theater near you August 20.

Disney's TANGLED: Second Teaser Trailer!

Disney Animation has released the second teaser trailer for TANGLED and it is not half bad. In fact, I can see some Pixar influences in their work and I love it. Artistically, TANGLED should be a must see.

Storywise, directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard are brushing up the male lead's role in an effort to attract a male audience. RAPUNZEL was clearly a female-centric story - not so much in today's version.

TANGLED is set to hit 3d theaters November 24.

Lucy and Edmund Pevensie return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world.

Majestic shot or what? No wonder this franchise has been a worldwide phenomenon; wonderful and fantastic characters. Let's face it - C.S. Lewis was no slouch! VOTDT hits 3D screens this December 10.

Dreamworks Animation's MEGAMIND Teaser Trailer Online

Jim here. Got the new teaser trailer for Dreamworks Animation's MEGAMIND. Not much to speak of in this teaser except we are introduced to the main evil character and his sidekick.

I did not get enough of a feeling from this clip to justify an opinion, other than "I need to see more".
