Asuran is the action drama film of an upcoming South Tamil language, written and directed by Weimaran. Dhanush is playing the lead role in the film. The film marks the beginning of Manju Warrior in Tamil language. The film is produced by Kalipuli S. Thanu has done under his production banner v creations. The same GV Prakash Kumar has given weight to score music for the film. The film has been adapted from the novel Vakkai.
After the success of Wada Chennai, Vatimaran and Dhanush had announced the Asuran film in December 2018, Vada Chennai was also released the same year. Both revealed the plan to make the next edition of Vada Chennai, but the proposed Wada Chennai 2 shoot Before agreeing to another film.
