In the Netflix original series The Crown, Queen Elizabeth II is just a twenty-five year old woman, forced to lead the monarchy of Buckingham Palace, England.
In this clip, Claire Foy, Matt Smith, and John Lithgow discuss the massive responsibility Elizabeth faced when assuming the crown. We're inserted into the middle of this family. Is Elizabeth a queen, a wife, or a shallow figurehead?
She has to hide the weight of the crown continuously. As Matt Smith added, the costumes and locations have to be just right to provide authenticity.
