13th Annual Visual Effects Society Awards Winners

Big Hero 6 was the BIG winner of last night awards ceremony as took home five awards followed by Dawn of the Planet of the Apes with three.

Still the wealth in non-animated Motion Picture was spread as awards also went to X-Men: Days of Future Past, Interstellar and Birdman.  During the ceremony Zoe Saldana presented J.J. Abrams with the VES Visionary Award.

The VES announces the nominees of the current edition of their awards that honor outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation in film, animation, television, commercials and video games and the VFX supervisors, VFX producers and hands-on-the-keys artists who bring this work to life.

Nominees were selected by VES members via events hosted by its nine sections - Australia, Bay Area, London, Los Angeles, Montreal, New York, New Zealand, Toronto and Vancouver.

The VES Awards will be held on February 4th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
