The big winner of yesterday's awards ceremony was He ovat paenneet (They Have Escaped) by J-P Valkeapää as collected a total of four awards, including the award for best film and the directing award.

Today Filmiaura, an association of film professionals, announced the Jussi Awards nominations that honor filmmaking in Finnish cinema since 1944. The Jussi Awards cover altogether 15 categories: best film, direction, actress in a leading role, actor in a leading role, actress in a supporting role, actor in a supporting role, script, cinematography, music, editing, sound design, set design, costume design, makeup design and documentary.
He ovat paenneet (They Have Escaped) leads the pack with 7 nominations followed by Päin seinää (Headfirst) with 5, Aikuisten poika (Boy Upside Down) and Kesäkaverit (Summertime) with 4 nominations each.
